J.Dee has been a practicing trial attorney in the State of Michigan for the past 30 years, with over 25 of those years in public prosecution.
He served 14 years in the Midland County Prosecutors Office, over 8 years as the Chief Assistant.
He has completed advanced national training programs in the prosecution of sexual assault, trial evidence, cyber stalking and computer crimes, and major drug and civil forfeiture cases.
He served on the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan (PAAM) Family Law Committee, making recommendations for changes in domestic violence, sexual assault, child and elder abuse, and stalking laws.
Brooks has served as the Bay County “drug czar,” in charge of major felony drug offenses and civil forfeitures, and also handles other major felony cases, including homicides, sexual assault, child and elder abuse, robbery, home invasion and cases involving career or habitual offenders.
J.Dee has received Prosecution Service Awards from the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan (PAAM) in 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2009.
And he has instructed at a number of PAAM training programs for prosecutors throughout the state. In addition, he has served as a Special Prosecutor in Clare, Gladwin, Huron, Saginaw and Tuscola counties.
